Congress has started a deficit reduction debate after voting to delay a Fiscal Cliff. The next vote could impact Texas as potential budget cuts are discussed. Those cuts could impact funding for public schools as well as border protection and military installations in the state. Texas has formed an Interim Committee to monitor Congress and to deal with any proposed cuts.
